Bathukamma festival

Bathukamma is a cone-shaped stack of colorful flowers and is arranged in seven layers. Women celebrate this day grandly by starting to decorate the Bathukamma from the afternoon. In the evening time, they all gather at SV Temple,7615 Metro Blvd, Edina, MN and place their Bathukammas at one location. They dance around them by singing various folk songs dedicated to goddess Durga.Then immerse in Water.

Bommala Koluvu
Oct 5th to Oct 13th

Devotees at SV TEMPLE participate with the children. Kolu or Golu means Divine Presence.Bommala Koluvu means Court of Toys. Kolu/Bommala Koluvu represents the divine presence of the Goddesses Saraswati, Parvati and Laxmi in the households during Navaratri (Nine nights).
Kolu is adorned with dolls – predominantly with that of the gods and goddesses depicting mythology. It is a traditional
practice to have at least some wooden dolls.
